Ball pits, booze and burns
Tuesday, 25 April 2017
Are you in your twenties? Do you enjoy getting drunk? Are you 100% convinced that this whole adulting thing isn't for you? Do you like slides? If the answers to the following were all yes then keep reading.
PLAY ZONE!! The answer to all your problems.
Me and Tania decided to have a mini road trip to Portsmouth from Brighton one wild Friday night, pop punk playlist at the ready and snacks in both hands. So it wasn't as spontaneous as it sounds, we had to pre-book and we had planned to go.
I feel like I should explain what Play Zone is, basically it's an adult soft play with ball pits, things that spin, netting, stuff to climb, stuff to swing off and slides, slides and more slides. I actually think it's for kids but on Tuesday and Friday nights they open it after hours, 8 - 11, for grown up kids to play and get drunk. Let's face it, it's a prefect combination.
We rocked up fashionably late at 9pm and stayed until it closed. Drinks were buy one get one free from 8 - 9:30, so after a lap and a few slides we went to get drinks but only just missed the deal, literally by minutes. Which to be fair, wasn't a big deal as I think the drinks were pretty cheap at £2 / £2.50. I had a blue slush puppy with a 25ml shot on vodka in it.
The play area itself consists of 5 slides, surrounded by 3 levels of fun. They have a rainbow group slide which is the slow slide, a slide where you end up in a ball pit, a mysterious black out slide and a HUGE red slide with two different levels of steepness. We did go on all of them but we weren't brave enough for the highest level slide until the end of the evening. It was so daunting but soooooo fun. I still can't believe the guy the went down on his stomach and then stood up at the end and slid, it was obviously not his first rodeo.
We filmed a ton when we were there for Tania's youtube channel, which I will link when it's live. It was so fun and I will going back for sure. Let me know if you're down via social media and we can plan an adventure.
DISCLAIMER - make sure you wear comfy clothes because I got a slide burn the size of a yum yum down my back.
*If you follow me on twitter you will know making gif's on Tania is one of my favorite things to do.
Harry Potter Studio Tours - The Forbiddon Forrest
Wednesday, 12 April 2017
"I solemnly swear I am up to no good"
If you're 20 something, you probably love Harry Potter as much as me. It's just so magical, everything about it makes me happy; the characters, the creatures, the spells, just everything. I am not even jealous of their fictional lives at all ... nope not one bit.
My little smoosh Zoey was turning 21 and has been asking for ages to go to the Harry Potter Studio tours in Watford. As a surprise me and Michelle booked tickets for us three to go. I am awful at keeping secret, it stresses me out and gives me anxiety but I did it, I am super proud of myself but I did it, FOR 2 AND A HALF MONTHS MAY I ADD. Her reaction was the cutest thing and made it all worth it (the videos on my Instagram). She had full on tears in her eyes and everything. Now that is happiness.
I've been before, but I haven't been in over 4 years and there were so many new things. The Hogwarts express and the new area The Forbidden Forest, it had only been open a week.
The forest was awesome, I won't give too much away encase you're planing on going any time soon ... sorry if you have me on snapchat, I got carried away and probably ruined it for you. It was so cool though, they had Buckbeak, who I couldn't get to stand up so he was bowing at me, so obviously I had to bow back. They have Aragog which is probably the coolest part and I hate spiders. I had to close my eyes on the ride in Florida when he showed up. There's also a little surprise in forest too which I thought completely made it.
Can we just talk a second to appreciate my butter beer ice cream. It was amazing and I got to take the little pot home as a memento.
I am not sure how long this has been open as it wasn't when I last visited but you can now go into the Dursely's house!! There were letters EVERYWHERE!! It was really cleaver and looked absolutely perfect.
We then finished our day with a GBK in the mall close by. I had the satay chicken burger, skinny fries with baconaise. Pure heaven.
I had the best day with my two favorite muggles. If you haven't been to the Harry Potter studio tours I highly recommend going. It look us 3 hours to go round the whole thing and I love every magical second.

Raise you're hand if you also hate your hair? If I could describe my hair in one word it would be BLERGH. I've recently had my hair cut and dyed by Amy at North Laine Salon in Brighton and it looks stunning once I left the stunning but since then I am having serious styling issues. Up-dos and braid is can crush, they're my bitch. What I really struggle with is having my hair down. It's fine, then as soon as I step outside, BOOM, it just looks awful. Hair extensions were my best friend but in 2017, I've decided to take a step back from that destructive relationship and focus on me #newyearnewme.
I thought I would experiment on products which will improve my opinions on my hair. It always looks so flat, dry and fine, so this month I went for volume. I want the biggest hair EVER!! I brought the volume shampoo and conditioner, the 3 minute miracle winter remedy deep conditioning treatment and I also got then miracle recharge heat spray - all from boots.
My hair has pretty much doubled in size since using these magic products. It's seriously so soft and although it still feels fine it doesn't look it as much which has made me happy. I just want to touch it all the time. Styling wise, I am still struggling to make any style actually hold, but I am sure now my hair feels a lot happier then that will come in time.
I've bee watching an insane amount of Milabu tutorials to help me learn how to style my shorter than short hair. She's so adorable and is helping a lot, I just want her to come over everyday to do my hair, that would be so useful.
January Favourites
Saturday, 4 February 2017 Brighton, UK
My January favorites has been requested this week, so here it is!! Introducing my favorite things of January. I never know how I feel about favorite blog posts as I can never tell it looks mega materialist or not. But nether the less I have done one anyway and I will try and add an something special in each month. If you have any questions about anything in the post, where to buy it? What's it like etc. feel free to ask in the comments below or tweet me.
THINGS
1. My Harry Potter Polyjuice potion glass. I LOVE HARRY POTTER!! The HP series is my all time favorite so when I found out Primark were selling these beauties for £3.50. I had to have one, it was just rude not too. The Brighton Primark is probably the worst Primark of all time, so the first time I went to look for these they were no where to be seen, I was quite pissed as I had left the house in the pouring rain especially and on my second hunt a week later, they were hidden by the customer service desk. If I hadn't have done about 8 laps of the home where section I would have never of found them. I brought three, one for my self and two for my best bitches.
2. The real techniques beauty sponge. I actually found this for £3.99 in TKMAXX. I have never owned a proper beauty blender as I can't justify the £16 price tag. It seems a bit crazy to me but TKMAXX have a huge selection of make up blending sponges. Some do look pretty rubbish but when I saw this one I had to try it. My last one was grubby AF, even after daily washing, that make up was not coming out and I felt gross putting it on my face. I saw a video where Kristin Leanne cut hers open to see how gross is was inside and it was vile, so I did this last night and it was gross but not as gross as I thought it would be. So far this one seems to be pretty nice, I love the flat surface so i can properly push the foundation into my skin.
3. The NYX lingerie lipstick - 02 EMBELLISHMENT. I hate lip colour on myself, I think my lips are a weird shape, they're always really dry and that generally lip colour is not something that I can pull off. BUT, I am actually super into the dark brown shade. I wore it on a night out and it lasted all night long and when I drunkenly went to bed with it still on, I woke up in the morning and it still had not budged. It's really long lasting, matte and moisturising. And for £6.50 it's an absolute bargain.
4. Zoey Cupcakes. One of my best friends has recently started her own little cupcake IG page (yes that is a Harry Potter cupcake in the picture). As much as I am trying to loose weight, it is hard to say no when something takes that good. They're hands down probably the best cup cakes I have ever tried, she's got some serious skill and those rose pipped cupcakes are so beautiful. If you are local to Brighton you have to try them!!
5. This vintage looking espresso maker. My dad actually got me this for Christmas but as I didn't see him until January I am adding it in here. I am not a big fan of coffee at all but for all who know me, I love espresso martinis and this little silver pot of joy has helped me create those delicious treats at home. I am still thrown at how it works, it's split into two sections, you add hot water and coffee too the bottom and it comes out the top half like a little fountain. I love the vintage style and it's going to look hella cute stored in my kitchen when we finally move house.
ALBUM OF THE MONTH
I am already cheating at this album of the month thing. January is more like ... song of the month. As you've all probably heard, Sonny Moore aka Skrillex released a new track with his old band, and my all time favorite emo band, From First to Last on his birthday - 10th Jan. AND HOLY SHIT IT IS GOOD. I have had it on constant repeat for the last couple of weeks, I am totally obsessed and I can't deal. I almost did a cry when I found out. The thing is no one knows what is going on and there are so many questions!! Are they going to tour? Is Sonny back in the band? Is there going to be an album? Is it just this one song? WHAT IS GOING ON SOME ONE NEEDS TO TELL ME!! You can listen to it below.
OUTFIT OF THE MONTH
Urgh!! Clothes and dressing myself. Nope, that is not for me, give me fluffy jammies and an oversized jumper any day. But I guess I do have to get up, go to work and be social sometimes. I found this beauty in the Topshop sale for £15. I adore playsuits, I know most thick thighed people like myself totally avoid them as your foof ends up eating the crutch part, but if you find the right one that doesn't happen.
I love everything about this playsuit. It hides my belly, the bat wing arms are perfect as they hide my arms and just bring some thing special to the look, I love that it's low cut and I love the cut of the lace. This is just 10 / 10 for me, I can not fault it. It's even easy to pull off when you're drunk and need to wee, what more can you want. It is more of a going out playsuit as it's pretty boobie, but I've also paired this with a black strapless crop top to make it less revealing.
FUCK YOU 2016
Saturday, 31 December 2016
2016 has been awful. To date, it was probably the worst year ever, for me personally and the rest of the world, I am still not over Alan Rickman passing. From July to October I totally lost who I was as a person due to stress, pressure and constant failure. I had hit rock bottom, I could barely recognise myself, which was really tough for me and the people closest to me. But with support from the amazing people in my life I managed to pick myself back. I feel like I am becoming myself again and things are slowly getting back on track.
As sucky as it has been, lets talk about the great things that happened in 2016.
Number one. I met Tania! It feels strange that I met her in the toilets at Slam Dunk only 8 months ago, but now she's one of my favorite people in the whole wide world and I couldn't imagine life with out her. We've had loads of random adventures already and here's to a million more in 2017. LOVE YOU GURL!!
Number two. FLORIDA!! Oh my goodness. Florida. I've wanted to go for years but it took me forever to persuade Sean to go. On new years eve 2015 we decided to book it for Halloween 2016 and what made it even better, is that in April, Shell (my bestie) and Ryan (my male bestie / Shell's fiance) decided to gate crash, they booked to come with and that took my excitement from a 12/10 to a 10 million / 10. I had the most magical time, words can't even explain how incredible it was. I would do anything to re-live those 2 weeks over and over.
Number three. I rekindled relationships with so many people this year and made more time for the people that mean the most to me. Which is something which has really brightened up my year in a big way.
Number four. I started to loose weight and I am learning to love and appreciate my body
Number five. I sorted out my finances. How adult of me!!
Number six. I started this blog, it was meant to be my new years resolution but I started early. I have had just over 500 page views since starting a little over a month ago. Which I am mega shocked about, so thank you.
I could not be happier to see the back of 2016. Here is to 2017, I am so determined to make you my bitch!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Let's make this one count.
Hair Tinsel
Saturday, 24 December 2016
DO DO DO DOOO, DO DO DO DOOOOO, DO DO DO DOOO, DO DO DO DOOOOO, Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas, Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas Eve friends!! I am super excited that it is Christmas tomorrow. In light on that fact I have basically thrown up Christmas on myself by adding hair tinsel to my clip in hair extensions. Calm down, I know you're are excited as I am.
After lusting over Kristin Leanne's sparkly hair for months and months and months I decided that now was the perfect time to accessorize my hair extensions. They're falling apart anyways, DAMN YOU FOXY LOCKS, so if I ruined them no big deal right.
I found my hair tinsel on Ebay, it was a bargain at £5.99. I thought it would be a ball ache to put in ... I was not wrong. It took ages and I wasn't even applying it to my own head but it looks AWESOME!! So the effort was totally worth it. You basically have to pinch the tinsel and pull the ends through, then pull your hair though the hole and then tie 1000 more knots so they don't fall out. This step by step picture explains it way better than I do.
They come in a pack of 100 strands, which is way more than you need. I think I used around 20 - 30 strands, so if anyone else wants sparkly hair, hit me up.
Applying each strand did take longer than expected as they're so fiddly. For my hair extensions, I didn't want to go too overboard so I decided one strand per clip. As you fold the tinsel in half as you apply it, you end up with double that what you expect. I think the this is something you can either do subtly or go completely wild, I went for the subtle approach as it can look tacky. It is tinsel in your hair after all. This is what my hair extensions looked like after I was finished.
Food, Friends and Festivities
Wednesday, 21 December 2016
This
weekend I ventured back to Eastbourne (my hometown) for a birthday and a catch
up with some old friends. I had such a lovely weekend seeing everyone and I ate
like a king. If you’ve ever been to Eastbourne, you know what a small little
town it is and if you’ve never been … well basically it’s full of old people
and it is in great need off being brought into the 21st century. I
love it regardless.
It was the
gorgeous Emily’s 26th birthday and she invited a group of her closes
ladies to The Hydro Hotel for afternoon tea, it was extremely adorable. I’ve
never been for afternoon tea before but I felt really fancy. I ordered of the
festive menu, I had turkey sammies, a yule log and a hot chocolate. Not your
traditional afternoon tea but it was pretty good and a mega steal at £8.95.
As luck had
it, the Christmas Coca Cola truck was in Eastbourne town center on Saturday so
I went down to have a look when it got dark so I could see it all lit up. It
was really busy so I didn’t queue for a photo with the truck but it did put me
in the holiday spirit, that and my egg log latte in my basic bitch red cup.
On Sunday I
met up with my two oldest loves Rachel and Kaye. We went for a coffee and for
lunch at Half Man! Half Burger! One of my best friends is the head chef there so
we had to visit really to judge how good the food was. I had a festive burger
and coleslaw, which was AMAZING. In a nut shell it was a Christmas explosion, a
burger with pulled turkey soaked in gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce and
parsnip crisps. Holy Fuck it mas magical. They have another branch in St Lennard’s,
so if you do see it, go eat all the food and you will not be disappointed ... I need to go back like right now because the thought of this food is making me hungry.
I love happy weekends.
